Ripper rugby Reflection

Ripper rugby Reflection

On Thursday 27 of June some kids went to a park and played Ripper rugby representing our school. That day are first game was against Irongate, the ref was a bit shaky though. Irongate were leading at halftime and the score was 2-0 to Irongate I was a bit bummed out though. It was the second half and I was really pumped and ready to go again, in the first 35 seconds we scored the first try. We went back to halfway and Irongate started with the ball. Irongate taped it and then passed the ball, then they suddenly dropped the ball we all saw it as a opportunity to pick up the ball and score. Renee got the ball and outran everyone on the other team by heaps and that made the score 2-2. We went back to halfway and Irongate tapped the ball then we all missed his tag and they scored a try which made the score 3-2. There was 5 minutes left and the score ended up being 4-4.

The next school we faced was Ma-hora and the first half we were winning 5-0. We were in the second half and we concertedly keeped scoring tries and it ended up being 11-0. In our third match we faced Frimley we won 6-0. In our fourth math we faced firmly again! and we won 7-0. Then are last game we had a by. We went in the semi final against the other Parkvale team and it nerve wracking. at halftime it was 1-0 to us. Then after that it was full time and the score was 3-2 to us but one of Sams try was disallowed because he was defending. So we went into extra time and I scored a good try and we won 3-2. We lost the finals against Te-mata 3-5.

Canoe Polo report

On Sunday 7th of July, Parkvale 1 and Parkvale 2 both went to Flaxmere pools to play the semifinals against each other. We all waited for 5 minutes and it was full time then it was our turn to play. There was 15 seconds until play, we were all lined up in the water with our canoes and off we went. The buzzers went of it was all on, Parkvale 1 got the ball and threw it to Jack and they got a goal. We all went back to halfway and the buzzer went off again, Parkvale 1 again got the ball and threw it to Jack and they scored once again. Once again we went to half way, it started play but straight away the hooter went off.

It was the second half and we changed ends and lined up again. The buzzer went off and Parkvale 2 got the ball. Camron had the ball and I yelled out I am open so he passed it to me and I got a goal I was really happy. We all went back to halfway and we marked a player each. Parkvale 1 started with the ball, Jack passed  it it was just a bit short!, I got the ball my canoe was floating up towards the goal I took the shot and I got it then it was full time. We had to go into extra time because there can only be one winner and that one team goes into the grand final. We both swapped sides for the third time, the ref threw the ball in the water and Parkvale 1 got the ball, Henry threw the ball to Jack,  he had a go and Ethan saved the goal we were so relieved at the time. Ethan threw the ball to me and I passed it to Cameron, I said I am going long so he threw the ball to me. Parkvale 1 was already there they were so quick I looked at the goalkeeper and I took the shot we won! I shouted we won and that was full time and the score was 3-2 to Parkvale 2.

20 minutes later it was the final. In the first half Frimley was winning 3 to nil. It was the second half and we got a goal straight away and that made the score 3-1. 2 minutes later we scored a goal and that 2-3 with 2 minutes left. Then Frimley scored a goal and I was gutted with I minute to go. The ref threw the ball in the water and we got the ball and we just scored with 2 seconds left and that made it 3-4 to Frimley

Camp art

This is my art with words in it. We got words out of our Camp report and we did some art. We also started with black and went down the page and slowly turned it in to a bit of white using black and white.

My Gran

Although she works in the kitchen every time I see her, she does not smell like oil. Without her I would be as lost as a leaf getting blown away from a tree. Even now she works so hard, she is still nice as she can be.  Every time I see her she will be reading a book or cooking dinner.  She makes the best boil up with watercress, potatoes and meat.

She is such a friendly gran always has a hug, but she is still humorous as she can ever be. Even though she is physical, she likes to relax like a turtle. She is not flash, she is not rich but she is still really neat.

Every time I go to her house she says come and give me a hug and then says do you want some cookies or water and I say “Yes!”  Gran has a huge garden.  You can find her digging every day of the week.  Her garden is organic and composting is her specialty.  When she comes comes to my house, she’s relaxed and kind.  At Easter we trade chocolates.  She always gives me a bunny.

Sometimes when she is so tired, she just doesn't do anything and just sits down. When we go over to her house she always says how is your day and we always good! Every time she sees my sister she says you look like an angel and my sister says thank you. But she always says you look like a turkey and I always say, “Whatever! “

It is easy to see what she likes. She likes cooking, gardening and cleaning. Gran likes going to work because she sees her friends and cleans like she always does at home. Sometimes Gran listens to the radio and the music she mostly listens to the olden day songs.
